Children’s Program on Snakes at the L.W. Paul Living History Farm

L.W. Paul Living History Farm 2279 Harris Short Cut Rd, Conway

Join us for free 30 minute Saturday activities at the Farm! Parents can sign children up for a half hour session between 9 AM-11 AM. Group sizes will be limited to help ensure social distancing. On October 16th we’ll discuss a few of the different types of snakes that can be found in South Carolina, and a few that would be common on the family farm.

Dr. Jeffrey Camper: Local Snakes

Horry County Museum 805 Main Street, Conway

The Horry County Museum and the AVX Foundation present a program by Dr. Jeffrey Camper on Saturday, October 16th. Using photographs and live specimens, Dr. Camper will discuss the different snake species that are found throughout South Carolina.
Jeffrey Camper was born in Aurora, IL and began catching garter snakes at seven years old. He received a BS in Zoology from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, an MA in Biology from Drake University, and a Ph.D. in Wildlife & Fisheries Sciences from Texas A&M University. Dr. Camper has been teaching genetics, evolutionary biology, comparative anatomy & herpetology at Francis Marion University since 1994.
