The Horry County Museum presents a free program on August 8th at 1 PM by Rebecca Cavalier on The South Carolina Department of Natural Resource’s Alligator Project. The Project is responsible for the statewide management of alligators. This includes statewide scientific surveys on alligator individuals and populations, education and outreach about alligators and ways to stay “Alligator Safe”, and permitting for removal, transporting, or captive alligators.
Rebecca Cavalier is a wildlife biologist for SCDNR and is the Nuisance Alligator Coordinator for the upper coastal region of South Carolina. She assists in all things alligators, but her main responsibilities include nuisance alligator management and the continued development of alligator education and outreach.
The program will begin at 1:00 pm in the McCown Auditorium located at 805 Main Street, Conway SC. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 843-915-5320 or email hcgmuseum@horrycounty.org. To view a full list of programs, visit our website at www.horrycountymuseum.org.
